Dr. Breanne Jaqua is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at A.T. Still University-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA). Dr. Jaqua earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from ATSU-SOMA and went on to complete her residency in emergency medicine at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She is now board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
As a first-year medical student, Dr. Jaqua served as President of the Student Government Association. She was later elected as National Chair of the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents, a council of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Jaqua subsequently participated in the graduate medical education accreditation process as the Resident Member of the ACGME's Review Committee for Emergency Medicine and as the Vice Chair of the ACGME's Council of Review Committee Residents. She now serves as the Chair of the ACGME's Council of Review Committee Residents and participates as a voting member on the ACGME Board of Directors. Dr. Jaqua’s areas of research and interests are varied, and include undergraduate and graduate medical education; diversity, equity, and inclusion; student and resident/fellow wellness, and trauma-informed care and culture.
